𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 is a fungal infection found throughout the world, however we most commonly see cases in North America.

𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚 is a bacterial disease caused by 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬. It was first described in the county of Tulare in California, hence the name!

𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 is 𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 (inflammation of the skin) caused by 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚, which are small worm-like parasites. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 are the most common parasites we see causing this condition!

𝐕𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐀 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 can be quite common in turtles kept in captivity if they aren’t fed a proper diet. This is just one reason why consulting with your exotics veterinarian about your pet is so important!

𝐓𝐲𝐳𝐳𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 is a bacterial infection of the liver that leads to 𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬, or death of the liver cells.

𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 is a group of issues that are very common in 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐬 (short-nosed) breeds of dogs and cats. These issues affect the animal’s ability to breathe.
