𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 is a fungal infection found throughout the world, however we most commonly see cases in North America.

𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 is a group of issues that are very common in 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐬 (short-nosed) breeds of dogs and cats. These issues affect the animal’s ability to breathe.

𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 are more scientifically known as 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬, and can be found all over the dog! We most commonly see them in the mouth, but they can even be found in places like the eye and skin.

𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐳𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 is infection by 𝐇𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐳𝐨𝐨𝐧 species, where are a genus of 𝐀𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐬. Apicomplexans are a type of parasite that must live within the cells of their hosts in order to survive.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 are malignant tumours of the 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐦, a specialized epithelium found in the bladder, ureters and urethra.

𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐦 are a type of roundworm that are found in the lungs and 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚 (windpipe) of many species. Today we’re going to talk about one species of lungworm that affects canids called 𝐎𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢!

𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞 is actually a pretty common toxicity, especially in the spring and fall. Animals will drink antifreeze because it tastes sweet!

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 are tumours derived from the 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭, which is a group of cells that develop into neurons and other nervous tissue. These tumours most commonly develop from the 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 near the heart.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 (TVTs) are one of the few known types of tumour that can be spread by contact, like an infectious disease. This is an extremely rare feature for a tumour to have!

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 are a 𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 (cancer forming) proliferation of 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐬, which are a type of white blood cell. Specifically, mast cells are most commonly associated with allergic reactions.
