𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐬 are the larvae of the sheep bot fly, which happen to enjoy living in the nose of sheep! The larvae living in the nose can be very annoying for the sheep, but generally do not cause too many issues.
𝐑𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢 is a bacteria that is commonly found in the soil and in horse manure. It is considered a 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 pathogen, meaning it needs to invade into host cells in order to survive.
𝐄𝐧𝐳𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫 is a form of 𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐚 (tumour of the glandular tissue of the nose) that is caused by a viral infection.
𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 is failure to form communication between the nasal cavity and the 𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐧𝐱 (large open area right before the trachea) during development. This blockage can be a single membrane, or even a bone, and may be found in both nasal passages or just one.
𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐧𝐢 is a bacterial disease of cattle that can cause a wide range of lesions throughout the body! Its primary role is as a respiratory pathogen, however.
𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 is a condition of the lungs in horses, which is similar to human asthma. In this disease, the airways are sensitive to allergens, causing them to constrict and prevent airflow through the lung. In chronic cases, the airways may also become obstructed by overproduction of mucus, or thickening of the airway walls.
𝐏𝐲𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐱 is when pus (pyo-) accumulates within the thoracic cavity. Usually, this looks like large amounts of cloudy, yellow or red fluid that contains long strands of 𝐟𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧 (one of the main clotting materials in the bloodstream).
