They are referred to as โ€œbarber poleโ€ because the female worms are predominantly red, with some of the internal organs showing as bright white striping on the surface. Cool!

    ๐๐ฌ๐ž๐ฎ๐๐จ๐ซ๐š๐›๐ข๐ž๐ฌ is a viral infection that mimics typical rabies, hence the name! However, this virus is actually a ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ฉ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ, instead of a ๐ซ๐ก๐š๐›๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฌ like rabies.

    ๐†๐จ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฉ๐ข๐›๐จ๐ฆ๐š literally means โ€œcotton tumourโ€, which is pretty accurate to what they are! Gossypibomas are when a piece of ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ ๐š๐ฎ๐ณ๐ž is inadvertently left in the animal during surgery.

    ๐’๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ฎ๐ง๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข are also known as accessory spleens, and they are a form of ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐š, or normal tissue in an abnormal place. In other words, they are basically mini spleens in an area where the spleen normally isnโ€™t!

    ๐‹๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐š is a tumour of the ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐œ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ, one of the bodyโ€™s major white blood cells. Because the white blood cells are found in the blood, these tumours can occur pretty much anywhere, and are always considered ๐ฆ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐š๐ง๐ญ (aggressive).
