𝐄𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫 is a thickening and irritation of the external ear caused by an ear mite, 𝐏𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐢. This irritation produces a crust lining the ear that is extremely painful!
𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 are the most important condition affecting the 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐬 of the eye, which orients light entering the eye onto the retina. Normal lenses are perfectly clear, but in cataracts they end up becoming cloudy!
𝐄𝐲𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 are a species of 𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐞 (roundworm) that like to live in eyes, as you might have guessed. They are found worldwide, which is a horrifying thought for you to enjoy
𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐝𝐬 are areas on the 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐚 (front surface of the eye) or 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚 (soft tissue surrounding the eye) that developed improperly. Instead of forming normal ocular tissue, the area has developed into skin-like tissue! These areas can include everything from hair to sweat glands to even bone and cartilage.
𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚 are an orange-brown area of 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 (cell death) on the 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐚 (outer, clear layer of the eye). They can be 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 (well defined borders) or more “fuzzy” looking. Typically only one eye is affected, however both eyes can be affected either at the same time or at different times.
𝐂𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐚 is the presence of a single, large eye, like a cyclops from Greek mythology. This is a problem that develops during development of the fetus, and is often associated with other 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 (present at birth) abnormalities.
