Melanomas are tumours that come from 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐬, which are a type of cell primarily found in the skin. Melanocytes produce 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧, a dark pigment, that helps protect the skin cells from UV light.
