A farmer brings in one of his favourite dairy cows to see you. She calved recently and came into a strong lactation, however he has noticed that her milk output has dropped significantly in the last couple days. She also seems to be groaning a lot.

Physical Exam
Belinda is QAR on presentation. She seems unwilling to move around much, and has a slight arch to her back. Her heart rate is 90bpm, and the heart sounds seem somewhat quiet. Her respiratory rate is 40bpm, and she is taking shallow breaths. Her temperature is 40ºC (104ºF), and there is little feces present on rectal palpation. Her rumen motility is 1 contraction in 2 minutes.
